Terms of Use

The beta

TapIt Connect is pre-release software. It will have errors, and features may change or stop working. Access is personal to you; do not share your sign-in. We may suspend or end access at any time.

Not for safety-critical decisions

Everything TapIt shows you — identifications, model numbers, part numbers, seal kits, cross-references, specifications, pump curves, and AI-generated text — is for information only. It is not engineering advice or a safety assessment. An incorrect result can look exactly like a correct one. Verify every result against the manufacturer’s own documentation before you buy, specify, install, repair, or rely on anything.

Where you may use it

Use TapIt only where you are authorized to photograph equipment, by the facility owner and your employer. Follow every site rule and safety requirement. Photograph equipment, not people, processes, or anything else.

What you may not do

Your content

You own the photos and information you submit. You give TapIt a permanent, worldwide license to use them to run and improve the service, train its models, expand its equipment database, and create de-identified or aggregated data, as described in the Privacy Policy. TapIt will not sell, publish, or disclose anything that identifies you or a specific facility except as that policy allows. Suggestions and corrections you send may be used freely.

TapIt’s content

TapIt owns everything TapIt produces: its equipment database, the identifications, specifications, cross-references, and records it generates (including from your submissions), its software, and its design. You may use TapIt results for your own work. You may not sell, share, or give them, or TapIt’s database, to anyone else, including any competitor. Manufacturer names, model names, and documents belong to their owners and are shown for identification only.

No warranty

TapIt is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, TapIt is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decision made using TapIt results. Our total liability is limited to $100.

Governing law

Missouri law governs these terms.

Changes

These are beta terms and will change before general release. Continuing to use TapIt after a change means you accept it.
